In 2001, it became famous for one of the most devastating tragedies in the world, when the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center collapsed, and the site is now a memorial to those who died, known as Ground Zero. Its landmarks are famous, as our its residents.
Many celebrities live in New York and there are tours that can be taken to visit areas where celebrities live, or where famous film shots have been filmed. Greenwich Village is another area of New York that is well loved by celebrity homeowners. Hollywood actor, Alec Baldwin, has a $11.7 million penthouse there. The Devonshire House home he shares with his young wife is set out on two floors and includes two master bedroom suites, a den, a dining room and an inbuilt fireplace. The huge space has every modern convenience and is a beautiful home in a delightful post war conversion block.
