It was established in the year 1881. This museum is a collection of natural science. William T. Davis, Nathaniel Lord Britton, Arthur Hollick, Charles W. Leng are the naturalist who has greatly contributed to the success of this museum.

This museum stands on the official site of United States Lighthouse Service General Depot. It comprises research documents pertaining to history and technology related to American lighthouse. This museum mainly focuses on the history of the American Lighthouse.
