EMFACE vs EmSculpt NEO

Is it Emsculpt for your Face?

BTL, based in the Czech Republic, is a company that specializes in non-invasive aesthetic and medical technology. BTL has been developing and manufacturing medical devices for over 25 years, and has a wide range of products, including non-invasive body contouring, skin rejuvenation, and physical therapy devices.

EMFACE is their newest device, and it was an honor that our office was selected by BTL to be one of the first medical practices in the United States to offer EMFACE treatment.

EMFACE: What is it?

Designed to rejuvenate the face, EMFACE is unique in that it uses two technologies simultaneously to produce its results.  The two technologies are called High Intensity Focused Electrical Stimulation (HIFES) and Radiofrequency (RF).  The HIFES restores muscle tone and the RF builds back the skin’s collagen and elastin.

The technology of EMFACE is significantly different technology than that in Emsculpt NEO.  In EMFACE, the RF is superficial, ONLY working to increase collagen and elastin. In addition, in EMFACE, HIFES energy is used to increase muscle tone rather than the HIFEM energy of Emsculpt NEO.

Why we brought EMFACE to our NYC office?

Producing impressive and completely natural facial rejuvenation results is something our office always prides itself on. When it comes to aging, there are two main components:

The first aging factor is the natural decline in the proteins needed to provide the skin’s structure and support. These proteins are called elastin and collagen.  While elastin and collagen naturally decline with age, additional factors, such as exposure to ultraviolet light, nicotine, an stress, can also accelerate aging even more by further decreasing these proteins.

Our office has devices that can generate new collagen and elastin to provide structure and support to the skin. These devices, including microneedling, lasers, RF, and ultrasound, work by creating little injuries to the skin, which activates the wound healing pathway through our body’s natural immune system. This wound healing pathway repairs and rejuvenates the skin by activating natural production of the elastin and collagen.

In addition to loss of the protein elastin and collagen as we age, another equally important factor is loss of facial volume, resulting from a loss of bone and muscle volume. The results of facial volume loss are skin sagging downwards and the face’s fat pads shifting downwards.

Until the recent introduction of EMFACE, facial fillers were the only way to combat this volume loss. With EMFACE in our NYC office, we are now able to combat both aspects of facial aging- volume loss and the loss of the proteins collagen and elastin.

EMFACE Results

The results of Emface are an impressive and natural facial rejuvenation. Emface produces an average increase of 30% muscle tone and an average of 23% lifting effect. Additionally, it produces an average increase of collagen by 26% and an average increase of greater than 100% in elastin, achieving a 37% reduction in wrinkles.
