Emsculpt vs Trusculpt
While both Emsculpt NEO and TruSculpt ID are non-invasive body contouring treatments for body areas such as the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs, there are some key differences between the two devices.
Emsculpt NEO
Emsculpt NEO treatment can be used on the abdomen, thighs, buttock, arms, legs, and love handles. The recommended treatment for each body area consists of 4 sessions spaced one week apart. With two technologies used simultaneously in the device, Emscupt NEO is able to both increase muscle mass, as well as reduce fat in the areas treated. The High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy stimulates muscle contractions thereby promoting muscle growth, and Radiofrequency (RF) energy eliminates fat by heating and melting fat cells.
Trusculpt ID
TruSculpt ID is a fat reduction treatment that can be used on almost any area of the body, including fat under the chin. Treatments typically require 2-3 sessions spaced 6 weeks apart. This device decreases fat by using radiofrequency (RF) energy to heat the fat cells.
Emsculpt vs Trusculpt: Differences in Treatment
Emsculpt NEO treatment is completely painless and requires series of four 30 minutes sessions spaced one week apart. There is no downtime associated with Emsculpt NEO and only one area can be treated at a time. Trusculpt ID treatments are 15 minute long sessions performed six weeks apart. Treatment area size is about the size of copy paper, and performed on one area of that size or split onto multiple body areas. Patients feel heat throughout the session.
Results
The results of Emsculpt NEO begin to be seen as quickly as four weeks post treatment, with the best results visible at three months. Emsculpt NEO treatment results an average of 25% increase in muscle mass, and an average of 30% decrease in fat.
The results of Trusculpt ID begin to be seen at six weeks after the first treatment session, with best results visible twelve weeks after the final treatment session. Trusculpt ID has been shown to reduce fat in treated areas by an average of 24%.
Advantages of Emsculpt NEO vs. Trusculpt ID
When it comes to choosing whether to do Emsculpt NEO treatment or Trusculpt ID treatment there are several things to consider. Emsculpt NEO has a clear advantage over Trusculpt ID if you are interested in building muscle in addition to decreasing fat. Emsculpt NEO also offers a slightly higher average amount of fat reduction compared to Trusculpt ID. Additional advantages of Emsculpt NEO are that it is a painless, comfortable treatment, and that the results are typically seen slightly sooner.
Trusculpt ID ’s advantage is that it is more versatile in terms of areas of the body it can be applied. We are able to use it practically everywhere on the body and patients love it for reduction of fat in the submental area (under the chin).
Emsculpt vs Trusculpt ID: Cost Comparison
Emsculpt NEO costs $4000 per treatment, which is 4 sessions and Trusculpt ID costs $2880 per treatment, which is two sessions.
Final Verdict:
Overall, Emsculpt NEO is our first choice when treating areas such as the abdomen, thighs, arms, love handles, legs, and buttock. In addition to decreasing fat in these areas, it also builds muscle, adding to strength, definition, and toning. Emsculpt NEO also offers the a more comfortable treatment, with a slightly higher fat reduction, and results that are visible slightly sooner than Trusculpt ID.
Trusculpt ID, our second favorite body contouring treatment at the moment, can be used in areas that can’t be treated with Emsculpt.
It is important to note that we can even combine treatments in some patients that have higher BMI or a particularly problematic area that they are trying to contour.
